Unlike most rental operations in the area, we do not operate a brick-and-mortar office or rental location—we operate exclusively online.
This means that we are able to pass on substantial savings to our customers by keeping our overhead expenses lower than our competitors.
In addition, because we make reservations exclusively in an online manor, we are better able to manage our inventory.
This means that once you make a reservation, one of our rental bikes is earmarked for you—and for you only! This translates to a guaranteed reservation for a rental bike during the period you have requested.
RENTAL BIKE PICKUP & DROP-OFF LOCATION
The pickup drop-off location for rental bikes is the Starbucks on the main highway that runs through Tulum. This is convenient for most of our customers because it is at a crossroads between downtown, the Tulum ruins, and the hotel zone.
On the day of your reservation, we will meet you at the drop off / pick up location, collect the remaining balance for the rental fee and also your damage deposit. You will sign a contract there.

Although we are available anytime during the day for emergency purposes, our pick-up drop-off times are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
We are also open from noon till 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sundays.

What You Need In Order To Rent A Bike In Tulum
There are several things that you need in order to rent a bike in Tulum. Below you can find out exactly what is necessary to make reservations and receive your Tulum bike rental.
As mentioned above, we operate exclusively online. Consequently, if you would like to rent a bike from Tulum Bike Rental, you will need to make reservations via our reservations page.
Fill out the form with your name, requested reservation dates, email address, and phone number. We will get back to you as soon as possible with information regarding both rates and availability.
RESERVATION DEPOSIT
In order to guarantee that you have a bike for your requested reservation dates, we require a reservation deposit via Paypal. This reservation deposit is a partial payment that is applied towards your total balance. PayPal accept either credit card, PayPal balance, or in some cases being transfer – depending on your country of origin.
IDENTIFICATION CARD
You will also need an identification card, drivers license, or passport in order to identify yourself when renting a bike from TulumBikeRental.com. Any government issued ID will work so long as it has a photograph of you along with your birth date and an identification number. Most of our customers use a simple driver’s license from their home country / state in order to prove their identity. We simply take a digital picture of this and save it in our files in case of emergency or theft.
RENTAL FEE
In order to rent a bike from TulumBikeRental.com, you will also need to pay your bike rental fee. Your bike rental fee is the total balance minus the reservation deposit that you made via PayPal. We only accept cash for the remaining balance as credit card processing fees are very high in Mexico. Because we want to keep our fees and expenses at a minimum, we have instituted a cash-only policy for rental fees. You can pay this in either USD or the MXN equivalent. You can also pay via crypto-currency (bitcoin, litecoin, dash, ethereum, etc).
DAMAGE/THEFT DEPOSIT
Because it is possible that your rental bike will get damaged, lost, or stolen, we ask for a damage deposit in order to cover some of the expenses in case something happens to your bike. The damage deposit of $75 USD per rental bike must be paid in cash. Like the remaining balance, you can pay your Tulum bike rental damage deposit in either USD or the MXN equivalent. We do not accept credit cards or PayPal for the damage deposit—cash or cryptocurrency only.
